The Comics for Compassion program works with mainstream comic book
publishers to expose young readers to stories that highlight the

pressure to ignore or even perpetrate animal suffering.
The Create Your Own Animal Champions Contest is open to children in
grade 1-9. Contestants must submit drawings of two superheroesone
human and one animaland explain how they use their super powers to
help protect animals from being harmed by people.
The Grand Prize winning entry, chosen by Marvel Comics, will become
the new official mascots of the Comics for Compassion program, and
this super-powered pair of human and animal heroes will appear in a
Marvel comic book (the specific comic book, and the nature of the
appearance, to be determined by Marvel Comics). In addition, the boy
or girl who submits the winning entry will receive color artwork used
in the production of the comic book in which their characters appear.
