The new season has begun!

We have 3 eggs this season. The 1st egg was laid Feb 1, 2 or 3. The 2nd egg was laid Feb 6, The 3rd egg was laid Feb 10.

NCTC installed a new cam on September 6, 2007. We got our first peek in months of the nest on September 18, 2007.

The egg laying history for this pair is as follows -

First Year 2004 - First Egg Feb 14 - 2 Eaglets successfully hatched and fledged.

Second Year 2005 - First Egg Feb 15 - 1 Eaglet successfully hatched and fledged.

Third Year 2006 - Eggs Laid Feb 9, 11 & 15 - 3 Eaglets successfully hatched and fledged. (First season for the cam).

Fourth Year - 2 eggs were in the nest by Feb 9th. She may have been sitting on an egg as early as Feb 6th. We aren't positive because the cam was down. Third egg laid Feb 12th. No hatching this season, probably due to the late inclement weather.

We are Eagle cam watchers and bloggers from the Eagle Cam site at the Shepherdstown, WV, FWS/NCTC.

The first season saw Liberty and Belle successfully fledge 3 eaglets, Big Boy, Ms Inbetween and Spunky.

Our second season was met with great heartbreak as the winter took its toll on Liberty and Belle. They tried to incubate 3 eggs in 2007, but were unable to keep them warm and dry through several snow/ice storms. Consequently, the eggs did not hatch.

Our eagle parents, Liberty (M), and Belle (F), have nested here since the 2003-04 season. We hope to see them nest here for a long time to come!
