PRIME DIRECTIVE: Our mission is to educate New Jersey residents about bears, reduce unwarranted fears, promote tolerance of our bear neighbors, and foster peaceful coexistence between bears and people.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
The Bear Education and Resource Group is a community-based, non-profit, educational organization, established in 1992 to provide factual information to the public about black bears, to alleviate unfounded fears of black bears, to advocate measures to avoid human-bear conflicts, to provide advice regarding specific black bear situations, and to oppose the hunting of black bears.
The purpose of this list is to keep our members up to date on bear issues and BEAR Group activities.
